Post-Mortem Blog From Canadian Blogger

Blog Derek Miller, a Canadian who had been blogging for ten years, began blogging about his battle with stage four metastatic colorectal cancer after his diagnosis in 2007. He drafted his final message and asked his longtime friend to publish it after his death. Miller died last week, his friend posted the blog, and the site went viral. Somewhere between 3-8 million visitors read the last post. The exact number is unknown because the heavy traffic caused the site to crash, and it had to be moved to another server.

His last message began with “Here it is. I’m dead.” He expressed his love for his wife, Airdrie, and two daughters, Marina and Lauren. He also gave his outlook on life and has inspired many people with his grace.

Special thanks to David S. Luber (Attorney at law, Florida Probate Attorney Wills and Estates Law Firm) for bringing this to my attention.
