Yankees Fan Returns Ball From Jeters 3,000th Hit

Jeter Christian Lopez, a twenty-three year old cell phone salesman, caught the baseball from Derek Jeter’s 3,000th hit. Instead of selling the ball estimated at $250,000, Lopez decided to give it to Jeter. Lopez stated, “[Jeter] deserves this, he’s worked hard for this…I’m not really the type of person to take this away from him.”

To show their gratitude, the New York Yankees gave Lopez four tickets to a suite at Yankee Stadium for the remainder of the season and tickets to the front row Legends Suite to Sunday’s game. Lopez also met Jeter and received an assortment of jerseys and bats.
