Bipartisan Legislation to Help Kidney Transplant Patients
On July 29 U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL), Thad Cochran (R-MS), and Scott Brown (R-MA) introduced the Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Transplant Patients Act. The bipartisan legislation will assist the thousands of Americans below the age of sixty-five who are being cut from Medicare after thirty-six months. The Act extends Medicare coverage of immunosuppressive drugs for kidney transplant patients and will offset the long-term costs of treatment.
