Dog Eats Inheritance Checks Worth $49,000

Roberta Kemnitz inherited part of her mother’s estate in March, including two accounts at Bank of America worth $49,000. Roberta said she left the two checks containing her inheritance on her table, and her Scottish terrier puppy, Jack, ate them.

Roberta contacted the bank and reported the checks lost. The bank stated that Roberta would have to wait ninety days to get replacement checks, but Roberta never received new checks. With the help of San Francisco’s ABC News 7 On Your Side Team, Roberta received her checks and an apology from the bank.
