Etta James’ Sons and Husband in Conservatorship Battle

Grammy-winner Etta James is terminally ill with leukemia, dementia, kidney disease, and many other illnesses according to the singer’s doctor. James’ two sons, Donto and Sametto, are currently involved in a court battle with Atris Mills, their stepfather and James’ husband, over conservatorship of James’ $1 million estate. James’ sons believe their mother should be admitted to a hospital instead of receiving at home care because of the singer’s deteriorating health.
