Samsung Electronics Chairman Sued by Brother and Oldest Sister
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee is being sued by his brother and his eledest sister. The sister’s lawsuit claims that her father intended for all of the children to receive shares of Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Electronics. The brother is suing claiming that Lee Kun-hee incorporated over 8 million shares in Samsung Life Insurance and 20 stocks in Samsung Electronics into his own stockholdings when his father died.
The sister wants 2.23 millino shares in Samsung Life Insurance and 10 preferred stocks in Samsung Electronics. The brother wants the court to order Lee Kun-hee to return the Samsung Life shares and the stocks in Samsung Electronics.
Lee Kun-hee was the chairman of the Samsung group of companies until he was convicted of multiple illegal financial dealings. He has subsequently been pardoned and has returned to chair the electronics business.
