Five Men in China Illegally Buy a Kidney

Five people in China illegally purchased a 17 boy’s kidney and then the boy used the money to purchase an iPad and iPhone. The purchasers are now being charged with intentional injury because the boy is now suffering from renal insufficiency. One of the five people who illegally bought the kidney is a surgeon who removed the organ.

The five men identified donors through online chat rooms and then they operated on the boy in a hospital. The surgeon got $35,000 out of the deal, and the boy got $3,500. The boy ultimately confessed the operation to his mother when she asked him where he got the money for his iPad and iPhone.
