Senate Passes Bill to Stop Elder Abuse

UnknownOn April 5, the Senate passed a proposal on that will aim to protect at-risk adults by requiring professionals such as doctors, nurses, and first-responders to report cases of abuse against these at-risk adults. Senator Hudak, who sponsored the bill, pointed out that there are a significant number of disabled and vulnerable adults who need this protection. Senator Kevin Lundberg opposed the measure because he feels the mandatory reporting constitutes government overreaching that violates freedom.
