A Rising Fad: Postnuptial Agreements

MarriagePostnuptial Agreements are gaining popularity among all social and economic classes of people. This document grants a couple the ability to come to an agreement through their lawyers about any type of conflict. For example, a postnuptial agreement can grant a husband the ability to agree to mow the yard if his wife would agree to do the dishes or vice versa. While this type of arrangement would appear to be a warning signal that the marriage is probably not going to work, some experts argue that this type of agreement can be beneficial to couples who might have problems dealing with certain practical and financial issues.

The reason that postnuptial agreeements are becoming more popular is the bad economy. Many couples are using these types of agreement as a back-up plan to secure their individual finances, just in case the couple gets divorced before the end of the recession. Other couples are using postnuptial agreements to re-structure their financial agreements after one partner receives an economic windfall from an inheritance or court judgment.
