IRS Approves Non-profit Status for Insurance Company That Fights Improper Land Use

Images-1The IRS has approved non-profit status for a new insurance company that is designed to help land-conservation trusts with the legal costs of fighting property owners who ignore land-use restrictions.

The national Land Trust Alliance created the company, Terra Firma, to help fight improper land use. So far, the alliance has raised $3 million of the $4 million that Terra Firma needs to take off.
