To Die Intestate or Not To Die Intestate?

WillsA recent survey from RocketLawyer.com has revealed that 50% of all Americans and a large portion of the baby boomers do not have a will. These individuals will die intestate, which means that the state will divide their property in accordance with the state statute.

While this is an appropriate solution for some people, this may not be the best solution for all parties. Estate planning is becoming more important, especially with the rise of a new structure in the American family. Currently, the number of the couples who are single and have children is rising and with it will come new problems that the intestacy statute cannot solve. It is also important to draft a will to give instructions on how to manage a person’s digital estate.
