Lawsuit Involving Injured Little League Player Has Ended In Settlement

BaseballSteven Domalewski was injured while playing in a youth baseball game in 2006. He was struck by a line drive, and was unfortunately left brain-damaged as a result of the injury. His parents brought suit against several parties including the manufacturer who makes Louisville Baseball Bats; the Police Athletic League, their son’s little league; and The Sports Authority where the bat was purchased. The parents sued because the those parties because they claimed that the bats were safe.

The Domalewski’s son was injured when he was pitching. The batter hit a line drive towards Steven hitting him in the chest directly above the heart. The blow struck with such force that ball knocked him backwards. The moment when the ball struck his chest, Steven’s heart was between heartbeats causing him to go into cardiac arrest. Between 15-20 minutes had passed before Steven received any oxygen. The lack of oxygen to his brain caused permanent brain-damage.
