Probate Clerk Gets Suspended Sentence

John Patston, a probate clerk in a town near Woodbridge transferred an £800 car from a woman’s estate and put it into his stepdaughter’s name. He was given a four-month prison sentence that the Ipswich Crown Court suspended for 12 months. As part of this suspended sentence, Patston must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and pay £150 costs.
