An Iowa fraternal organization called Council Bluffs whosemission is to give anonymously to the needy is trying to raise money to pay off their property taxes. A Council Bluff member placed a Craigslistadd to sell a coffin and use the proceeds to pay off the debt. However, the police quickly intervened when they saw thatthere were human bones inside the coffin. The bones were allegedly donated by adoctor in the 1880’s . Despite the story of where the bones originated, there is no paperworksupporting those allegations. According to police, human bones cannot be soldwithout proper identification. The bones are in the custody of the Iowa MedicalExaminer.
