Larry Ellison’s Children Not Typical Trust Fund Babies

David and Megan Ellison (30 and 27 years old, respectively) are already multi-millionaires, because their father happens to be Larry Ellison, the third richest man in the United States worth $43 billion according to Forbes. The elder Ellison has never shied his children away from money, instead he has taken a nonchalant approach allowing his children to “[deal] with the pluses and minuses of having a lot of money.”  Ellison believes it’s better to allow children to get used to dealing with wealth while they are young and willing to accept parental guidance.

The two siblings are both USC film school dropouts. However, Megan’s film production company, Annapurna Pictures, fully funded the blockbuster hit Zero Dark Thirk Thirty’s $45 million budget. David’s company, Skydance Productions, is the co-producer of 2013 summer movies such as Star Trek: Into the Darkness and World War Z.  And based on Larry Ellison’s recent “Giving Pledge”, it’s not hard to imagine his children managing large charitable foundations someday.
