Nursing Home Deaths Increase Following West, Texas Explosion

14 residents of West Rest Haven,the West, Texas nursing home affected by the fertilizer plant explosion, havedied in the last two months, which is twice as high as usual.

Despite the destruction of mostof the nursing home, almost all the nursing home residents survived it.  However, relatives believe the shock of theexplosion hastened their deaths.  Expertsbelieve the combination of existing illnesses, multiple displacements, and theconfusion following the aftermath of the blast has contributed to the higherdeath rate.
