Indian Princesses Finally Inherit Their Father’s Renowned Fortune

Thedaughters of Sir Harinder Singh Brar, the late Maharaja of Faridkot, are set toinherit his estimated $4 billion estate after an Indian court recently ruledhis will to have been fabricated.  Thewill had granted the estate to a trust run by palace officials for theirexclusive benefit.

Theprincesses, Amrit and Deepinder Kaur, already in their 80s, have been fightingfor decades for control over the legendary estate in India’s Punjab state.  The Maharaja died in 1989 at the age of 74after the death of his only son.  Hisother daughter, Maheepinder, died in 2002 at age 62.

Includedin the massive estate is “a 350-year-old fort, palaces, and forests lands inFaridkot, a mansion surrounded by acres of land in the heart of India’s capitalNew Delhi and similar properties across four states.”  His estate also includes an aerodrome spreadover 200 acres, a stable of 18 cars, and over 10 billion rupees worth of goldand jewelry.
