Lottery Winner’s Murder Remains Unsolved
One day after receiving his $1 million lottery check, UroojKhan, 46, sat down to have a curried lamb dinner with his wife, father-in-law, and daughter. This meal turned out to behis last after Khan died that night from cyanide poisoning.
While the murder investigation continues, family members arenow locked in a court battle for Khan’s estate. In addition to the $1 million lottery ticket Khan bought at a Chicagoconvenience store, Khan owned a home, several dry cleaning shops, and otherreal estate, making his estate worth around $2 million.
Because Khan died intestate, his daughter from a previousmarriage wants to ensure her fair share of the estate. Meanwhile, wife and suspect, Shabana Ansari,is also safeguarding her interests. Shabana’sfather, who was also present at Khan’s last dinner and owes the IRS $120,000,is another suspect.
