Houston Estate Sale Company Under Fire

An Elegant Estate Sale, aHouston area estate sale company, is accused of selling a family’s mementos andkeeping the cash.

Charles Francis hired thecompany to sell his deceased parents’ possessions from the home they lived infor 43 years.  The contract statedFrancis would be paid 10 to 30 days after the sale.  Two months have passed and Francis stillhasn’t received the uncertain sum. 

Francis received a textafter the sale saying he was owed $11,820.37, but two weeks later, another textwas sent saying it was instead $5,832.45. When contacted for comment, owner Rena Head stated Francis was owed amere $1,300.

The contract gave Head a 35%commission on gross sales after subtracting expenses like advertising andcleaning.  On top of waiting for hismoney, Francis has learned that both Head and her husband have criminalrecords.
