Rare Ferrari Fetches $27 Million at Auction

An extremely rare Ferrariowned by the former mayor of Lexington, North Carolina, recently sold atauction for $27.5 million.

The lateorphan-turned-millionaire Eddie Smith died in 2007 at age 88.  The 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S N.A.R.T. Spiderhad been in his family for 45 years and had been stored in a specialgarage.  Only 10 of these cars were everbuilt and one was featured in the 1968 film “The Thomas Crown Affair.” 

The proceeds of the salewill be given to various charities.
