Controversial Sperm Donor Case Set for October

As I have previouslydiscussed, William Marotta is being sued by the Kansas Department for Childrenand Families for child support.  Marottadonated his sperm to Angela Bauer and Jennifer Schreiner for $50 afterresponding to a Craigslist ad.  Thesigned agreement stated he was to have no part in the child’s life.

The state argues Marotta isthe father because the couple did not use a licensed physician for theartificial insemination.

Oral arguments have been setfor October 25 in Topeka.
