Don’t Mix Up Medicare with Obamacare
For millions of Americans, October is an important month formedical-insurance sign-up. This year, Americans should be careful not toconfuse Medicare with Obamacare as the open-enrollment period for Medicare(Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) overlaps with the initial registration for a cornerstone ofObamacare, the Health Insurance Marketplace (Oct. 1 – Mar. 31).
Those already covered by Medicare shouldn’t pay anyattention to the Health Insurance Marketplace, which is for those under 65 whodon’t have health insurance.
The open-enrollment period for Medicare allows those who arealready covered to review their policies and make changes for new plans takingeffect January 1.
