Married Couple Dies Together After 70 Years of Marriage

An Illinois couple married for more than 70 years died just hours apart. The families of the couple say the pair was always together. 92 year old Robert Viands suffered from Parkinson’s and was pronounced dead August 30, at 12:45 am. Nora Viands died from pneumonia at 4:45 pm. The couples children put their parents in the same room for their final hours. Their son characterized the deaths as a “blessing” because each would have been heartbroken without the other.
