The Lottery “Curse”

Willie Seeley was one of the 16 Oceans Country garageworkers in New Jersey, dubbed the Ocean’s 16, who won $450 million in the USLotto.  Seeley was initially extremelyhappy with the windfall but now feels a sense of regret with his wife Donnareferring to the win as “the curse.”

Seeley has found it difficult to adjust to the “nonstopdrama” that followed his media appearances. He explains, “You have to change your whole way of life, but we didn’twant to change the way we lived.”  Seeleyhas shared some of his winnings with family and helped to fund cancertreatments for his father.  He has alsopurchased his dream home, a cabin on 15 acres of land where he hopes to shutout those who have become interested in him.
