100th Anniversary of Federal Income Tax

100

Today,October 3, marks the 100th anniversary of the federal income tax.

Onthis day in 1913, President Woodrow Wilson signed the legislation into law, which concluded a process begun four years earlier by President Taft.  The income tax of 1913 is still with us andis likely to be for many more years to come.
