Alabama Supreme Court Declines to Hear Family Burial Plot Case

The Alabama Supreme Court declined James Davis’s appeal.Davis buried his wife of 48 years in his front yard according to her wishes. Davis claims that the family burial plot did not fall under the laws for cemeteriesso he could keep his wife buried in his front yard without securing a permit.The decision was 5-3 after the Alabama appellate court ruled against Davis. Thecourt did not draft an opinion.
