Congressman Langevin Explains Involvement in Caramadre Scheme

As I have previously discussed, last year Joseph Caramadrepleaded guilty to a scheme which targeted the terminally ill.  Now, Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin istrying to explain why he profited from this scheme. 

Langevin is one of many public officials appearing on Caramadre’slist of investors.  Langevin says heloaned money to a family member, not knowing what its purpose would be.  When the family member repaid the loan,Langevin was given an additional $8,600 as a return on investment. 

Langevin donated this money to charity upon learning ofCaramadre’s scheme.
