Pa. Lawyer Charged with Stealing $1.7 Million
Bucks County lawyer Randolph Scott has been indicted fordefrauding a client’s estate out of over $1.7 million.
While representing the estate of John C. Bready from 2005 to2011, Scott allegedly diverted estate funds to his law office accounts. The indictment alleges Scott purposefullyfailed to file federal estate taxes so there would be enough money to pay beneficiariesand avoid detection.
Scott is also believed to have failed to disclose the deathof the estate’s executor in 2009 so the investment account manager wouldcontinue sending the executor’s checks to Scott’s office. Scott allegedly forged the executor’ssignature on the checks and deposited them into his accounts.
