Study Shows Jewish People Are More Likely To Leave A Charitable Contribution

CharityArecent study revealed that 23% of American Jews are leaving money behind forcharities in their wills. This percentage is nearly twice the amount as non-Jews.Moreover, the funds are not necessarily left to Jewish organizations. In fact, the study showed that the Jews were most likely to leave a bequest to any typeof charity. Additionally, 74% of all Jews have drafted a will; in contrast, only 60% of non-Jews have a will.

Anotherinteresting point the study revealed is that 45% of Jews who were members ofJewish organizations were leaving charitable gifts versus 15% of Jews who don’tbelong to a Jewish organization. This study confirmed a correlation betweeninvolvement in Jewish life and charitable contributions just like other studiesalso conducted by Jumpstart and others.
