Tennessee Sued for Not Recognizing Same-Sex Marriage

Foursame-sex couples have filed a federal lawsuit against Tennessee, arguing thestate’s refusal to recognize their legal marriages from other states violatestheir constitutional rights.

Thecouples claim they deserve the same rights as opposite-sex married couples inTennessee.  The couples hope to havetheir marriages recognized in Tennessee so they can proceed with the next step,which is having same-sex marriage legalized in Tennessee.
