World War I Wills Now Available
Hundreds of thousands of wills written by World War Isoldiers were never delivered because they included details concerningmilitary movements or troop morale. HerMajesty’s Court and Tribunal Service has now made these wills available to thepublic with an online searchable database.
This British government agency has scanned and digitized278,000 World War I soldier wills, which relatives can now find by searchingfor the name and date of death of the soldier. Those who order a record will receive a digital copy. However, each record ordered costs $10 withno preview of what the record may contain.
