UK Supreme Court Hears Right-to-Die Case
A significant right-to-die case was heard today by UK’s highest court.
The widow of Tony Nicklinson, a locked-in syndrome sufferer, and Paul Lamb, a paralyzed road accident victim, took their fight to the Supreme Court in an effort to give physically disabled people the choice of a “dignified and human” death. They suffered a defeat at the Court of Appeals in July, but are determined to carry on with the case so others in a similar position won’t have to suffer as much as Mrs. Nicklinson’s husband.
