Woman Leaves Nearly $1 Million to Winlock
Evelyn Miller died in 2012 at age 100. She left nearly $1 million to the city of Winlock, Washington, specifying the money must be used for economic development to attract professional services that should occupy existing buildings.
Mayor Glen Cook hopes the money can match grants for needed water and sewer repairs, but Miller’s lawyer says the improvements would have to be closely tied to economic development.
