Experimental Womb Transplants Successful So Far

Womb1

In the first major experiment of its kind, Swedish doctors have successfully transplanted wombs into nine women, who will soon try to become pregnant.  The nine women, most in their 30s, were born without a uterus or had it removed.

In an effort to allow childbearing, womb transplants are the first transplant intended to be temporary.  Two previous attempts to transplant a womb failed to produce babies, but the efforts in Sweden are the most advanced operations yet.

Special thanks to David S. Luber (Florida Probate Attorney) for bringing this article to my attention.
