Oklahoma’s Gay Marriage Ban Struck Down
A federal judge ruled today that Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage violates the U.S. Constitution.
U.S. District Judge Terrence Kern immediately stayed his ruling pending appeals, meaning same-sex marriage in Oklahoma won’t happen right away. The lawsuit was filed by two same-sex couples who sued for the right to marry and to have the state of Oklahoma recognize their marriage from another jurisdiction.
