USB: In Case of Emergency

If you truly want to be prepared for an accident or other emergency, consider carrying a portable USB drive with you at all times.  Storing a backup drive in a safe or safety deposit box may also make sense.

From a legal standpoint, the most important information you should store on the USB is documentation that is useful in the event of an accident, such as a durable and medical power of attorney, physician’s directive or “living will,” and a HIPAA authorization.
