ACLU Taking on Missouri’s Gay Marriage Laws
The ACLU filed a lawsuit today seeking recognition for Missouri same-sex couples legally married out-of-state. The lawsuit does not seek to repeal Missouri’s gay marriage ban.
After Massachusetts permitted same-sex marriage, Missouri in 2004 became the first state to enact a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
