Nevada AG Not Defending Gay Marriage Ban

Nevada-welcome-360x288

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto has announced she will not try to defend Nevada’s gay marriage ban.

Masto has filed a motion to withdraw her brief in support of the ban.  Gov. Brian Sandoval has said he agrees with her legal reasoning that the law is “no longer defensible in court.”  Masto’s decision means that the state of Nevada will be on the sidelines when the court decides whether or not to uphold the state’s ban.
