Marvel, Kirby Heirs Settle Case Before Reaching Supreme Court

HandsAs I have previously discussed, a case involving the heirs of Jack Kirby and Marvel Entertainment LLC was on track to go before the Supreme Court of the Untied States. The suit involved the Kirby heirs attempting to terminate the copyright grant on many Marvel characters. Marvel prevailed in the lower courts with the argument that Marvel had the rights to the characters because Kirby was employed by Marvel when he created the characters. The case has been settled by the parties on undisclosed agreement terms.
