Supreme Court to Decide ERISA Statute of Limitations Issue

GavelYesterday, the Supreme Court of the United States decided to hear a case to resolve a statute of limitations issue for ERISA claims. Employees of Edison International brought suit alleging mismanagement of employee pension plans by the company. The Court will decide whether the lower courts correctly held that a six year limitations period applies and begins to run for ERISA claims when the action is taken, when the employees are unaware of the action.
