As I have previously discussed, Bela the dog was going to be put down so his ashes could be mingled with those of his deceased owner, but got a second chance and was saved by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill sanctuary. Unfortunately , Bela’s happy ending was cut short by a rapidly developing cancer, and the German Shepherd that was at the center of the outspoken social media attention was put down on Sunday by veterinarians at Best Friends. Bela will be reunited with his owner, as his ashes will be buried with those of his owner in Indiana.
