Proposed Changes to Inherited IRA Distributions

IRAOne of the President’s proposals explained in the Treasury Green Book regards inherited IRAs and the proposal would “require non-spouse beneficiaries of deceased IRA owners and retirement plan participants to take inherited distributions over no more than five years.” This proposed change to distribution timing includes exceptions for some individuals that are non-spouse beneficiaries, such as a disabled or chronically ill beneficiary.
