Protecting Against Identity Thieves After Death
If not properly planned for and protected against, identity thieves can strike after a person’s death and do financial damage that will affect surviving family members. Identity thieves may attend a person’s funeral or get access to personal files in the home while the family is mourning and off guard. To protect against identity theft after death, a list of tasks should be left for the executor of an estate for how to deactivate the person’s identity after they die.
