Tupac’s Estate Gets A “Reset”
In anticipation of the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, a “total reset” of his estate is underway. Loma Vista Records has signed on to help with the brand’s expansion. This company has worked with other deceased artists such as Janis Joplin and Otis Redding, and has also assisted Michael Jackson’s estate with licensing and other business endeavors.
Since Tupac’s passing in September 1996, seven of his posthumous albums were dropped. Loma Vista Records is consequently exploring alternative ways to keep his works and image afloat, one that involves Kendrick Lamar. Other projects from Tupac’s estate also include an apparel line, a biography, and a Grammy Museum exhibition.
