Benson Family Feud Continues

In the latest step surrounding the family feud over Tom Benson’s fortune, a San Antonio lawyer who oversaw the trusts holding shares in the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans franchises asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the teams’ owner Tom Benson, alleging the Louisiana court lacks jurisdiction over business dealings in Texas.

Yesterday, lawyer Bobby Rosenthal argued in a motion to dismiss that the case belongs in Texas because that is where the trust and assets reside, as do the beneficiaries of the trusts.  When the trusts were created, Tom Benson was a resident of Blanco County, Texas, where he was registered to vote.  Benson and his wife, Gayle, now live in New Orleans.
