FBI Creates Compassion Centered Death Notification Training

Two weeks ago, the FBI announced a new initiative to give those at the front lines the tools needed to deliver compassion centered death notifications. The Bureau and Penn State University have created a training course available online and at no-cost, which is entitled “We Regret to Inform You . .  . ” and focuses on the most compassionate and professional ways to deliver the difficult news to family members. The training incorporates recent research and includes individualized considerations for how to deliver the news, such as age and culture.
