How To Handle Controlling Clients and Lying Family Members

Money FightOne of the biggest difficulties in elder law and estate planning is having clients that want to control everything and family members who will say anything to get a bigger piece of the estate. This article recommends some good ways to deal with these issues including being up front with your client about the course of action you believe to be proper and to mediate any disputes between the testator and family members. Ultimately, every lawyer must make sure they are on the same page as the client since a little upfront unpleasantness can prevent costly malpractice claims down the road.
