The Inheritance Retirement Plan
A HSBC survey reveals that almost half of respondents are expecting to receive an inheritance, and of that half 30 percent are figuring that into their retirement plan. The survey included 16,000 people from 15 countries. Those Americans planning to fully fund their retirement from an expected inheritance may be taking a big risk as older Americans are putting less value on passing on large inheritances and tend to prefer to spend their savings on helping out family members during life.
