New Jersey Considers Pet Trust Reform Legislation
New Jersey lawmakers are considering legislation that would amend current state law regarding pet trusts. The new bill would make a number of changes to the existing statute. It would remove the 21 year limit for the term of the trust, and the new proposals will also expressly permit intervivos pet trusts. The amendments to the statute will also include provisions that would provide for the offspring of trust beneficiaries that are pregnant.
