The University of Texas Will Add Ben Bradlee Papers to Watergate Collection
The estate of former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee has agreed to donate his papers to the University of Texas’s Harry Ransom Center. Ben Bradlee was known for being the Washington Post editor during the Watergate Scandal. The Harry Ransom Center is already home to the Watergate era papers of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. Bradlee, who passed away last year at the age of 93, wanted to donate his papers to the University of Texas so that they could complement the Watergate collection that the University already has. The Washington Post editor was depicted in the movie All the President’s Men by actor Jason Robards, who won an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role. Thanks to this donation the University of Texas will be able to consolidate Watergate era material, which will provide a valuable resource for researchers.
